Why resort choice matters

Two 5-star Maldives resorts can feel completely different.

One may have a brilliant house reef but a long seaplane transfer. Another may be easy by speedboat but better suited to families. Meal plans, villa privacy and water conditions can matter more than the hotel name.

Beach villa or water villa?

For many travellers, the best answer is both.

A split stay gives you direct beach access for part of the holiday and the classic overwater experience for the other part. It can also be a smarter use of the budget.

Beach villa: sand access and tropical privacy
Water villa: views and direct lagoon access
Split stay: experience both while managing cost
When to visit Maldives

Weather, price and value all move through the year.

The drier months are popular and often more expensive. Wetter months can still offer excellent resort value, with tropical showers that vary by island and day.

Peak demand

Christmas, New Year and other festive periods can bring higher rates and compulsory gala supplements.

Nov–AprGenerally drier, popular for sunshine and classic beach conditions.
May–OctWetter season with stronger promotional pricing at many resorts.
Festive datesHigh demand; book early and check compulsory dinner supplements.
Maldives FAQ

Before choosing a resort.

Is all-inclusive worth it in the Maldives?

Often yes if you plan to eat and drink mainly at the resort. But the exact value depends on which restaurants, beverages and activities are included in that resort’s plan.

Speedboat or seaplane — which is better?

Speedboat resorts are simpler and often cheaper to reach. Seaplanes add a scenic experience but increase cost and operate during daylight hours.

How many nights are enough?

Four to five nights works well for many couples; longer stays make sense for larger islands, premium resorts or travellers who want a slower holiday.

Can you arrange honeymoon benefits?

Yes. We check the resort’s current honeymoon or anniversary inclusions and the documentation/time limits required to receive them.
