Why pacing matters

Ladakh is not a destination to rush on Day 1.

The altitude and road distances make itinerary design more important than simply fitting in every attraction. We keep the arrival day light and structure Nubra and Pangong days so the trip feels adventurous without being unnecessarily exhausting.

Classic Ladakh Circuit

Leh โ†’ Nubra โ†’ Pangong โ†’ Leh

The first day is intentionally easy to allow time to adjust to the altitude.

Day 1Arrive Leh, rest and acclimatise.
Day 2Leh local sightseeing: Hall of Fame, Shanti Stupa and selected nearby sights.
Day 3Drive via Khardung La region toward Nubra Valley.
Day 4Nubra sightseeing and onward drive toward Pangong via the selected open route.
Day 5Pangong morning and return to Leh.
Day 6Hemis / Thiksey region, markets or relaxed local touring.
Day 7Airport transfer and departure.
Should you add Hanle or Turtuk?

Only if you have enough nights.

Remote extensions can be the most memorable part of Ladakh, but adding them to a short trip often creates too many long road days. We prefer adding nights rather than squeezing them into the classic circuit.

Turtuk: remote Nubra extension
Hanle: wide landscapes and a longer route
Tsomoriri: best added with sufficient time
When to visit Ladakh

The practical travel window is seasonal.

Most leisure trips are concentrated in the warmer months when roads and high passes are more accessible. Conditions can change quickly even within the season.

Road conditions come first.

Pass openings, local restrictions and weather can require route changes. We reconfirm the operating route close to travel.

Mayโ€“JunSeason begins building; some road conditions can still be variable depending on snowfall.
Julโ€“SepPopular period for the classic Leh, Nubra and Pangong circuit.
Oct onwardColder conditions and more limited leisure-tour operations depending on route and weather.
Ladakh FAQ

Before you book.

Why is the first day kept free?

Leh is at high altitude. A light arrival day is a sensible way to avoid starting the holiday with strenuous sightseeing or a long road journey.

Can Nubra and Pangong be done directly?

Often yes via routes used in the season, but exact access depends on current road and local conditions. We reconfirm the routing for your dates.

Can Turtuk or Hanle be added?

Yes, but we recommend adding extra nights rather than compressing the classic itinerary.

Are permits included?

The sample package includes the applicable permits for the planned route. Requirements are reconfirmed based on nationality and destinations included.
